I. Industry Background and Solution Value

Currently, battery-powered power tools are evolving towards high performance, miniaturization, and intelligence, while the industrial sector increasingly demands autonomous supply chain control. Traditional solutions rely on imported components, facing supply fluctuations and cost pressures, and struggle to meet performance requirements for new applications such as brushless motor control and high-precision signal acquisition.

Against this backdrop, Corebai has introduced a full-chain domestic solution covering power management, signal acquisition, and processing. Centered on its self-developed industrial-grade chips, the solution precisely addresses the needs of electric tool performance upgrades, supply chain security, and miniaturization design, providing reliable domestic alternatives for selection engineers and B-end clients.

II. Program Overview

This solution addresses industrial control requirements for battery-powered power tools (including rechargeable drills, angle grinders, and impact wrenches) by delivering a comprehensive domestic solution covering power management, signal acquisition and processing, and motor control drives. Built on Corebai's proprietary power management chips (DC-DC converters and LDO regulators) and operational amplifier (OPA) series, the solution strictly adheres to industrial-grade reliability standards. It effectively meets core operational demands in battery-powered applications, complex working environments, and high-precision signal acquisition scenarios, while ensuring full autonomy in critical component control.

III. System Architecture and Functional Analysis

The solution is divided into three major modules: power management, signal acquisition and processing, and control and drive. The functional compatibility and component matching for each module are as follows:

1. Power Management Module

1) Core functions: Enables battery charge/discharge management, converts battery voltage to stable operating voltage required by system components, and provides reliable power supply for MCU, signal chain, and motor drive circuits.

2) Component selection:

The CBM2576HV (High-Voltage DC-DC Step-Down Converter) serves as the primary step-down device on the battery side, reducing high-voltage battery voltage to the medium voltage level required for motor drive and control circuits.

The CBM317 (Adjustable LDO Linear Regulator) functions as a secondary voltage regulator, delivering low-noise, high-precision regulated output for analog/digital circuits including MCUs, operational amplifiers, and sensors.

2. Signal Acquisition and Processing Module

1) Core functions: Amplify and process three critical analog signalsbattery voltage, motor current, and motor speed/positionto provide precise feedback data for the MCU.

2) Component selection:

OPA1 (Battery Voltage Acquisition): A low-power, wide-temperature operational amplifier is selected to achieve high-precision amplification of battery voltage signals, enabling power monitoring and over/under-voltage protection.

OPA2 (Motor Current Acquisition): A high-precision operational amplifier with low offset voltage and zero drift is employed to amplify the motor current signal sampled by resistors, serving for overcurrent protection and torque control.

OPA3 (Motor Speed/Position Acquisition): A low-noise, fast-response operational amplifier is employed to process digital pulse signals from motor Hall sensors or encoders (excluding analog back electromotive force detection scenarios), providing real-time feedback for closed-loop speed control.

3) Optional OPA series: CBMLM358, CBMV321, CBM600X, CBM862X, and CBMV72X, with flexible model selection based on requirements for precision, power consumption, and bandwidth.

3. Control and Drive Module

1) Core function: The MCU generates PWM signals based on collected signals and user inputs, and controls the motor's speed and torque through the power drive circuit.

2) Device synergy: The power management device provides stable power supply for the MCU and driver circuit, while the signal acquisition module delivers real-time feedback data to the MCU, enabling efficient and precise motor control.

Battery voltage acquisition: Prioritize low-power, wide-temperature operational amplifiers (OPAs) such as CBMV321 and CBM600X to ensure long-term stability in power monitoring.

Motor current acquisition: Prioritize zero-drift, high-precision, and low-offset operational amplifiers (e.g., CBM600X) to ensure sampling accuracy for overcurrent protection and torque control.

Motor speed/position acquisition: Low-noise, fast-response OPA (e.g., CBM862X, CBMV72X) is recommended to meet digital pulse signal conditioning requirements; high-speed OPA is required only for analog back electromotive force detection scenarios.

Power management components: Only four peripheral devices are required for the CBM2576HV, while the CBM317 adopts TO-252/TO-263 surface-mount power packages, simplifying PCB layout and reducing overall device footprint.

Operational amplifier: Available in micro-sized packages including SOT23-5/6 and MSOP-8, with single, dual, or quad-channel configurations to further reduce PCB footprint, aligning with the trend toward miniaturization in power tool design.
